Solutions & services
Designed for demand. Engineered for resilience.
Agricultural microgrids
Renewable-energy infrastructure for agricultural communities and rural enterprises, including irrigation, processing, refrigeration, storage and productive use.
Solar & renewable energy systems
Bespoke systems designed around local energy demand, available resources and infrastructure. Solar PV, biomass, small-scale hydro and hybrid generation are considered where technically appropriate.

Battery & energy storage
Storage integration to improve reliability, manage demand and maximise renewable-energy utilisation.
Energy management
Engineering strategies that optimise generation, storage and energy consumption around how a site actually operates.
Feasibility & project development
Technical feasibility, energy assessments, techno-economic analysis, project concepts, system sizing, business-model development and impact assessment.
Engineering & implementation
Support from design and procurement through installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support.
Training & capacity building
Technical and practical training for engineers, technicians, farmers, community operators, students and local enterprises.
Engineering in practice
From analysis to implementation.

Our work connects rigorous analysis with practical delivery and long-term technical capacity. Engineering decisions consider local demand, operation, maintainability and productive use.
Delivery
From concept through commissioning.
Understand
Assess the community, business, energy demand and local environment.
Design
Develop an appropriate renewable-energy and infrastructure solution.
Validate
Assess technical performance, economics, environmental considerations and implementation requirements.
Deploy
Work with local and international partners to implement the project.
Support
Provide training, maintenance and technical support.
Scale
Use lessons from successful projects to develop replicable solutions for other communities and markets.
Accessible infrastructure
Making renewable energy accessible.
Upfront capital can be a barrier to renewable-energy adoption in rural Africa. CrownGrid is exploring flexible deployment models, including Energy-as-a-Service.
Where appropriate, CrownGrid and its financing partners can develop and deploy infrastructure while customers pay for the energy service over an agreed period. This can reduce the upfront financial burden on farmers, cooperatives and rural enterprises. Models are assessed for each project; financing is not represented as automatically available.
